'BARDO'

'Bardo' was made for a show entitled 'Ghosts' held at the House Gallery, London in 2003. The title comes from a Tibetan word referring to the state between death and re-birth.
It is a 4ft 6" square piece of black silk velvet stretched over a frame with the ultrasound image screen printed on.

'LOUIS SHACKINOVSKI'S SUITCASE'

This piece was made for an exhibition at the Red Gate Gallery, London in 2003.
A small gallery housed in some railway arches near Loughborough Junction station.
I imagined this suitcase to have been made by a Mr. Louis Shackinovski, a traveling
salesman who took it with him wherever he went.
The suitcase measures 29" x 16" x 8", the double tree drawing is on glass, lit from
behind and surrounded by a wood frame.

'A LADY'S TABOO'

A small installation on a plinth consisting of a carved wax leg and pubic hair approx. 3" long, a silk carrying pouch with velvet lining approx. 4 1/2" x 3" and typewritten text on paper.

'THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE'

A sculpture made for a group show in a recently renovated victorian cottage, 2001.
I found the butterfly wings scattered about the floor in a bedroom before building
work had started.
The house is concrete and approx. 12" x 12" x 6". The butterflies are made up of
real butterfly wings, hair and glass beads.

'LOCKET'

Made in 1999 this piece was done during a period of interest in icon and miniature paintings.
The locket is Victorian 9ct gold and approx. 1 1/2" x 1". The miniature painting is oil on gesso and gold leaf, the image being 'Fox Mulder' (David Duchovny) from the X Files T.V. show!
